Die Ionen fungieren als Kondensationskerne, die die Kondensation eines gasf\u00f6rmigen Stoffes f\u00f6rdern. Dieser Effekt tritt bei starker \u00dcbers\u00e4ttigung oder niedrigen Temperaturen spontan auf und ist beispielsweise bei Kondensstreifen von Jets in gro\u00dfer Flugh\u00f6he zu beobachten. Im Lieferumfang enthalten ist ein schwach radioaktiver Alphastrahler aus thoriertem Wolfram.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bodenplatte mit K\u00fchlelement:<\/strong> Diese wird mithilfe eines Peltierelements auf minus 35 Grad Celsius heruntergek\u00fchlt. Dadurch kondensiert der Alkohol aus dem oberen Bereich der Kammer an der kalten Bodenplatte.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Beleuchtung und Stromversorgung:<\/strong> Eine helle LED-Beleuchtung sorgt f\u00fcr gute Sichtbarkeit der Nebelspuren. Sie ben\u00f6tigen lediglich eine Steckdose und etwas Isopropanol. Der Filzring im Deckel wird mit Isopropanol getr\u00e4nkt, und die Bodenplatte wird heruntergek\u00fchlt. Nach etwa zehn Minuten beginnt der Alkoholdampf an der Bodenplatte zu kondensieren, und die ersten Spuren werden sichtbar.<\/p>\n<p>Die kr\u00e4ftigen, wei\u00dfen, geradlinigen Spuren stammen von der Alpha-Strahlung, w\u00e4hrend d\u00fcnnere, netzartige Effekte auf die Beta-Strahlung zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren sind.
